Privacy Policy
Utah Builder Directory ("we," "us") operates utahbuilderdirectory.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what choices you have. We wrote it in plain English on purpose.
The short version: we record anonymous quiz answers with no name attached, we collect contact details only when you choose to give them, and we collect basic website analytics. We use it to connect you with builders and to understand what Utah buyers are looking for. We do not sell your personal information.
Information you give us
- Concierge requests: name, email, phone, desired area, budget range, timeline, builder type, and any notes you provide.
- Builder submissions: company name, contact person, email, phone, website, social handles, logo, service areas, pricing information, communities, and company biography.
- Area interest: your email address and the Utah area you asked about.
- Quiz responses: the answers you select. When you finish a quiz your answers are recorded automatically and anonymously, with no name, email, or phone number attached and no way for us to link them back to you. If you separately choose to save your results or ask to be introduced to builders, the contact details you provide at that point are stored alongside those answers.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we collect standard analytics such as pages viewed, quiz questions answered and the option chosen, searches and filters used, builder profiles viewed, approximate location (city or region level), referring website, device type, and browser. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
How we use it
- To respond to your request and connect you with builders that may fit your criteria.
- To review and publish builder profiles.
- To send you updates you asked for, such as area availability notifications or our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand aggregate demand across Utah, for example which counties and builder categories buyers are searching for most.
Aggregated insights
We may publish, share, license, or sell aggregated and de-identified insights about Utah new-construction demand — for example, the share of buyers searching a given city, price band, home style, or feature. This includes providing such reports to builders, developers, lenders, and other industry participants, whether free or paid. These insights are statistical only. They never include your name, email, phone number, or any information that identifies you personally, and we do not attempt to re-identify anyone from them. Because anonymous quiz answers carry no identifying information, they are not personal information and may be retained and used for this purpose indefinitely, including after any deletion request.
Sharing your information
We share your information only in these situations:
- With builders or licensed professionals only when you have explicitly asked to be introduced and checked the consent box. Taking a quiz, or saving your results by email, never results in your information being shared with a builder.
- With service providers that operate the site and our communications, such as our web host and email tools.
- When required by law or to protect our legal rights.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your choices
- Decline analytics cookies using the banner shown on your first visit.
- Unsubscribe from any email we send using the link in that email.
- Request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of your personal information by emailing renzo@utahbuilderdirectory.com. Utah residents have these rights under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, and we honor them for all visitors regardless of where you live.
Communications consent
When you submit a form, we contact you only in the way that form described. Saving your quiz results means we email you those results and occasional updates. Asking to be connected with builders means those builders may contact you by phone, text, or email. We store the exact consent wording you agreed to alongside your submission. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text or telling us directly.
Data retention and security
We keep submissions for as long as needed to help you, and we use commercially reasonable measures to protect them. No website can guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top reflects the most recent version.
